I went a little crazy here thinking about all of the animals that I wanted to include so it turned out to be not the usual careful composition. My oldest son was here while I was working on it and I asked him, “Can you think of a name for it” He studied it for a minute and said, “Seaquarium, because it’s a combination of what you would see if both were together” A perfect name!
I hope that you don’t get cross-eyed trying to look at it but this piece was one that I had a lot of fun with. It took about two months to finish because you start with a white board and when you finish it looks kinda like an oil painting. Drawing is my first love and this is just drawing with color. Feel free to critique, I welcome your opinion!

And it’s fun to see you here my Sweet Addie. Yes, hopefully not in a lake like in Calvery. I still shutter when I think of it! The ocean is the place to dive. Are there any reefs around Virginia beach? you used to love diving. Love you and miss you!
I love it, and agree with Addie, it is colorful and fun! It is all in balance, too. You have such detail to all the little sea critters, and sea plants. I really think it is an awesome painting!
And the name “Seaquarium” , is just perfect for this!

Quite relaxing to see this image on a wall, I like the care for details and the jolly colors.
I wouldn’t worry about composition, usually when you look in an aquarium image changes all the time so it illustrates well an aquarium full of life.

Beautiful, beautiful. It looks perfectly composed and I can’t believe it is pencil! I only started oil painting about 3 years ago… Before that my joy was children’s illustration. Your art work reminds me of this. Full of detail and colour and story telling. I love it!
The beauty of colored pencil is that you are always in perfect control and it can look like a painting instead of a drawing. With oil painting you lose some of that control. All mediums have their advantages and the opposite. Your work looks as if you have been painting much longer; Think what you will achieve down the road.
